The Neches River Wildlife Refuge will hold a free Field Day in association with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. The refuge is located on U.S. Highway 79 between Jacksonville and Palestine. The schedule includes a program about the refuge, guided walking tours in the forest and along the river and a crayfish net-dip. Attendees are asked to bring a camp chair. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Neches River Wildlife Refuge, the Texas Conservation Alliance, The Conservation Fund, Friends of the Neches River and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
