Meals on Wheels hosted a volunteer appreciation day May 30 at First Presbyterian Church in Rusk. Tammy Carraway, coordinator for Cherokee County honored those attending. Rusk public works employees repave Fifth street in front of the post office and Cherokee Civic Theatre. City Manager Mike Murray said Fifth street was older, heavily traveled and about to break apart. Other high priority streets in Rusk's paving plan are East Sixth street, Needham Street and Abraham Street. The city will patch other streets as needed. Street repairs underway
