Cassi Fletcher and Libby Berry, along with their classmates at Rusk Intermediate School, are helping raise money in the Pennies for Patients campaign. The program benefits The Leukemia Lymphoma Society. For three weeks, students have brought in spare change for people with blood cancers such as leukemia. Leukemia strikes more children and young adults under the age of 20 than any other type of cancer. After just two weeks, Rusk Intermediate students have contributed $593.22. They will finish the campaign this week.
