Twirlers win medals at state UIL competition in Austin

A twirling trio consisting of Garrison High School Twirlers, received a superior rating and gold medals at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Twirling Contest in Austin, May 27. The trio advanced to the state level after receiving a superior rating at the UIL Regional Twirling Contest last October. The competition routine they performed featured 1 and 2 batons, multiple formations and exchange tosses. From left are Marilyn Metzig, formerly of Rusk, Bailey Heflin and Alyssa Horton.
