Three new Cherokee County deputies are currently undergoing field training. From left are Michael Torrres, Paytn Woody, Sheriff James Campbell and Alma Creel. All have been working since July and are former employees of the sheriff's department. Deputy Torres has two and a half years experience as a jailer; Deputy Woody, two years in communications; and Deputy Creel, four years as a jailer and DATA clerk from 2001-04. In addition to her work for Cherokee County, Ms. Creel has eight years experience with the Austin Police Department as a communications officer.
