Sons of Confederate Veterans Cross of Saint Andrew Camp # 2009 recently dedicated three new military grave markers at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Veterans honored were Major John W. Francis and his son, Private James Francis, who both served in the 19th Tennessee Infantry. All three are ancestors of camp historian Shelley Cleaver. The ceremony included a rifle volley in their honor. Flowers were placed on the new markers. A roll call of the 103 Confederate veterans buried in the cemetery was read. The ceremony closed with the singing of "Dixie."
