Local groundwater conservation district to host July 16 public hearing on proposed amended TWC rule
JACKSONVILLE – The Neches & Trinity Valleys Groundwater Conservation District board will host a 1 p.m. public hearing Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Jacksonville to hear comments on proposed amendments to district rules regarding the Texas Water Code.
According to a N&TVGCD agenda, the proposed amendments will “implement various provisions of Chapter 36 of the Texas Water Code and Chapter 8863 of the Special District Local Laws Code.”
Among the proposals are an updated section on groundwater availability and desired future conditions, historic and non-historic operating permitting, export, exempt wells and well registration.
Thursday’s meeting will be held at the district office, 501 Devereux St. in Jacksonville. Written comments may be sent to the district by mail or email, [email protected].
