Rose "Marie" Birmingham

Rose “Marie” Birmingham, 95, passed away quietly on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at The Hospice of East Texas in the presence of her daughter, Kathy Schmidt and granddaughter, Leanne Hanna.

Born on Sept 20, 1928, Marie was the daughter of the late James Dixie Scurlock and Rozena Richardson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roosevelt Birmingham, and her son, Billy Martin Birmingham, whom she loved faithfully and deeply. She is survived by her son, Timothy Birmingham and daughter, Kathy Schmidt.

Marie was a strong, independent woman who faithfully served her family well as mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She was intelligent, wise and witty. She loved to laugh. She lived life to the fullest on her terms until her time on this earth came to an end. She was loved and respected by her family. Her legacy will live on.
