Classes back in session

School districts in Cherokee County kick off the 2024-25 school year this week, with start dates listed below:

NEW SUMMERFIELD – Classes began Aug. 5

Alto ISD – Classes begin Aug. 7 (an incorrect start date was published in a recent edition. The Cherokeean regrets the error)

Wells ISD – Classes begin Aug. 8

Rusk ISD – Classes begin Aug. 12

Jacksonville – Classes begin Aug. 13

Troup – Classes begin Aug. 14
