Rusk Council to mull street department needs, equipment
RUSK – Local city leader will discuss needs and equipment for the Rusk Street Department during a 5:30 p.m. meeting Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 116 E. 5th St. Suite B council chambers. A separate but related item calls for creation of a committee to assist with equipment prices, the agenda noted.
Meanwhile, items listed for discussion during executive sessions scheduled as part of Thursday’s meeting include:
• Government Code Section 551.074 personnel deliberations – City Secretary
• Government Code Section 551.071 litigation and certain consultation with attorney, regarding possible enforcement suit for unpaid motel/hotel tax and any other related issues
• Government Code Section 551.071 litigation and certain consultation with attorney, regarding demand letter from Steve Guy concerning Ruby and possible suit concerning the tittle issue arising from alleged fractional interest certain property described in that certain Quitclaim Deed dated July 2, 1950, and recorded in Vol 433, Page 98 and any other related issues
• Government Code Section 551.072 acquisition of interest of real property regarding building for Police Department
• Government Code Section 551.071 litigation and certain consultation with attorney; Cause No. 2022060132 and other related issues.
Action, if any, related to executive session dialogue, must be taken after the council resumes into open meeting, according to Texas Government Code.
