Carroll Jean Lawson

Carroll Jean Lawson, 77, life-long Maydelle resident, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, January 16, 2024 in Jacksonville, TX. She was born May 11, 1946 as the youngest child of Thurman and Elizabeth Allen.

Carroll Jean was an excellent cook and treasured time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 56 years, Garrett Lee Lawson; grandson Trevor Kyle Lawson; and grandson Bryanth Chance Lawson; as well as her parents; brother Glen Allen and sister Betty Ramsey.

Carroll Jean is survived by her children, Gary Lawson of Maydelle, Sammy and Janie Lawson of Florida, Curtis and Tonya Lawson of Maydelle, Cinda and Alan Thompson of Hideaway and Kim and Eric Henslee of Rusk. She is also survived by grandchildren, Cole Lawson, Nathan Lawson, Brady (Sara) Lawson, Cody (Kayla) Lawson, Emily Etheridge, Jared (Kourtney) Lusk, Jace (Brittany) Lusk and Katelyn Henslee; as well as great grandchildren Karlee Lawson, Casen Lawson, Braddock Lawson, Maverick Lawson, Pyper Lawson, Declan Lawson, Asher Lawson, Lincoln Lusk, Sophia Lusk, Judson Lusk, and Huxley Lusk.

The family is having a celebration of life on Sunday February 4, 2024, at noon at Curtis Lawson residence, 1354 CR 2120 Rusk, Texas 75785. Cremation was chosen and a private graveside service will be held after the celebration.
