Carl B. Daniels, affectionately known by family and friends as C.B., Danny, and Carly, was born on October 28, 1921, to Archie Smith and Lula (Brannen) Daniels and went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2023. C.B. was a genuine authentic example of Christian character, and this was always on display for the benefit of those around him. He was blessed with a humble outlook and approach to life. C.B. lived with divine purpose. He always had a plan which was carried out with great precision. C.B. was never a fan of sitting still and was always prepared to help others when needed. Even in his later years, he continued to keep his garden and give what he grew as a blessing to others. He loved people, and children, especially his grandkids, great- grandkids, and great-great-grandkids, who all held a special place in his heart. Family was meaningful and of great importance to C.B. He always made efforts to stay in touch with his brothers and sisters. C.B. accomplished much in his life. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired as a Houston Fire Fighter. No doubt, C.B. was one of the “Greatest Generation”. That said, C.B.’s greatest accomplishment was the servant and sacrifice he was for others. He was a true instrument of God’s righteousness and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
C.B. was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Margie Meador Daniels; parents, Archie and Lula Daniels; 10 brothers and sisters; and grandson, Greg Waggoner Daniels.
Left to cherish C.B’s memory are his 2 daughters, Brenda Sheridan and husband Jack of Troup, and Carol Omenson and husband Dwight of Jacksonville; and son, Larry Daniels and wife Susan of Jacksonville. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Joyce Harper, Wade Sheridan and wife Mandy, Heather Barber and husband Robbie, and Eric Omenson and wife DeeDee; 11 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.
