Dr. Deborah Burkett was guest speaker for the June 11 Jacksonivlle Rotary Club meeting. She was the guest of Rotarian Dick Stone. Dr. Burkett has done research not on earlier tomato celebrations that went back to the 1930s in Jacksonville. From 1934-1941, a Tomato Queen was named each year, including the 1936 Queen, Miss Frances Carolyn Wood (Mrs. Philip Pavletich) of Jacksonville.
