A funeral service for William E. “Bill” Tosh, 81, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Rusk with Bro. Dale Jamerson and Bro. Billy Don Garner officiating. Visitation will begin 1 hour before. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk.

Bill was born on September 1, 1942, to Leo Waters and Maude “Honey” Tosh in Rusk and went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2023. Bill was a devoted member of the Global Methodist Church in New Summerfield. Bill was known as a “Jack of all Trades”. He spent over 16 years in the Banking Industry and served as the President of Rusk Federal Savings and Loan. He was known to be a talented woodworker. He could repair anything from clocks to small engines and currently, was making sails for sailboats. Bill was a very talented musician who could pick up any instrument and play by ear. Most of all he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Paw, and Popa Bill.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Maude Tosh; first wife, Lynda Matlock Tosh; brother, Wayne Tosh; and sister, Mary Ann Nichols.

Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his loving wife, Sheryl Tosh of Lake Stryker; daughter, Shelley Norman and husband Rodney of Rusk; son, Pat Tosh and wife Christy of Winona; daughter, Nikki Scales and husband Buddy of Winona; 5 stepdaughters, Lisa Bonin, Cindy Johnson, Jessica Fuselier, Monica Landsman and husband Lewis, and Rachel Israel; and stepson, Chris Dupre. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Austin Norman, Collin Norman, Elizabeth Minter, Tondra Phillips, Kayla Simmons, Trenton Tosh, Christian Tosh, Chase Kennedy, Crystal Scales, and Josh Scales. Together, Bill and Sheryl had 35 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Austin Norman, Collin Norman, Chase Kennedy, Trenton Tosh, Christian Tosh, and Lewis Landsman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Dievendorf, Robert Lee, Bobby Tosh, Jerry Don Pierce, Raymond Vermillion, Terry Tosh, Billy Don Garner, and Wayne Yeargain.
