UPDATED: Rusk Council to review applications for Dist. 2 seat on Nov. 7

RUSK – Members of the Rusk City Council will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 7, during a 5:30 p.m. special meeting to review applications submitted for the District 2 seat held by the late Walter Session.

While only three applications have been submitted thus far, those interested in representing District 2 have until noon Monday, Nov. 6, to apply, said City Secretary Cinda Etheridge.

No action is expected to be taken Tuesday, with city leaders instead opting to announce their appointee during a regular council meeting set for Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Rusk Council Chambers located at 116 E. 6th St., in Suite A in downtown Rusk.

The individual appointed to the District 2 seat will serve until May 2024, when a special election will be called.
