Early voting period ends Nov. 3
CHEROKEE COUNTY – Registered voters wishing to cast an early ballot in the November special election have until 7 p.m. Friday to do so.
The 2023 November general election focuses on 14 proposed state constitutional amendments, along with the City of New Summerfield’s ordered general election for adoption of a 1.5% local sale and use tax.
Voters can cast ballots at any one of three county-wide polling sites during the early voting period. The sites are located at:
• The Cherokee County Election office, 138 W. 5th St. in Rusk
• Jacksonville Public Library, 526 E. Commerce St.
• The River Church, 595 Marcus St. in Alto.
Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, as well as from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday-Friday, Nov. 2-3. Voters must present a valid ID to cast a ballot, according to the Texas Secretary of State office.
