Jimmye Rhea Watson

Jimmye Rhea Watson, 89, of League City, TX, formerly of Rusk, TX passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023 in League City. She was born February 18, 1934 in Smith County, Mississippi. Jimmye graduated from Taylorsville High School in Mississippi in 1952 and attended Jones County Junior College. After graduation she worked as a bookkeeper.

Jimmye married the love of her life, Hank Watson, on April 1, 1961 and were happily married for 54 years; he preceded her in death on December 5, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her two sons Michael Howard Watson and Richard Kent Watson, Sr; her parents: Elmer Walters and Essie Copeland Walters; brother: Ferrill Walters; sisters: Reba Roberts, Grace Miller, Florence Jordan, and Delphi's (Dot) Pappan.

Jimmye is survived by her two beloved daughters-in-law: Patricia Watson and Pamela Watson; four grandchildren: Amanda McKinley and husband Jackie (JD), Richard (Ricky) Watson Jr, Brooke Watson, and Meredith Watson and husband Martin; ten great grandchildren: David, Addison, and Courtlyn Findlay, Avarie and Emily Hargrave, Savannah and Jaxon Massey, and Isom, Madden, and Rowan McKinley; 13 nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Jimmye loved the lord and her family with all her heart.

Visitation for Mrs. Jimmye Watson will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Chapel of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk, TX with a celebration of her life starting at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 14, 2023 also in the Chapel of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, 221 West 5th Street, Rusk, TX with Pastor Brian Givens officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery.
