UPDATE: Boil water cancelled for Wells
Date: Aug 06, 2023
On June 23, 2023, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system, CITY OF WELLS ID# 0370004, to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN) to inform our customers that due to INSUFFICIENT CHLORINATION OF OUR WATER SYSTEM causing a city-wide interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled prior to consumption.
Location: All customers receiving water service with the City of Wells.
Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of August 6, 2023.
The utility department will be flushing this week. Customers may experience low pressure in the areas being flushed. The pressure will return after the flushing ends. Customer will need to flush their homes, water heaters and change any home filters and ice maker filters.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Roy Shanks, Operator, or City hall at (936) 867-4615.
If a customer wishes to contact the TCEQ, they may call. (512) 239-4691
