Excessive heat warning in effect Monday, June 19

Numerous counties in East Texas, including Cherokee County, are under an excessive heat warning from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023, according to officials from the National Weather Service, and residents can expect "dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 113 degrees. Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities."
