Alert from City of Wells: Water Service interruption

"Water for the East side of the city is currently off to repair a major leak on E 6th Street. Once the leak is fixed the boil water will be reissued for the East side of the City (Wells ISD side of Highway 69) for: E 1st St., E 2nd St., E 3rd St., E 4thSt., E 6th St., E 7th St., Bonita St, May St., Warner Rd, County Road 2631 and County Road 2632, E Greenville, E Oldham, Wright Patman Dr, Rusk Ave (Hwy 69) from the library to the Dollar General."

Several hours prior to that, the city posted the following alert:

"Alert from City of Wells: Boil Water Notice Lifted

On April 5, 2023, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system CITY OF WELLS ID# 0370004 to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN) to inform our customers that due to a water main break causing an interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled prior to consumption.

All Customers on the City of Wells Utility System that live on the following city streets. The East side of the City (Wells ISD side of Highway 69): E 1st St., E 2nd St., E 3rd St., E 4thSt., E 6th St., E 7th St., Bonita St, May St., Warner Rd, and County Road 2632, E Greenville, E Oldham, Wright Patman Dr, Rusk Ave (Hwy 69) from the library to the Dollar General."

However, the alert added, a "Boil Water Notice for customers living on County Road 2631 has not been lifted."

"Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of April 7, 2023. On Friday, April 7, 2023, the City of Wells issued the following alert:

"We have a broken valve preventing water supply to CR 2631. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; our utility workers are on-site to fix the break."
