J’ville Chamber helps JISD

On Friday, Jan. 22, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Adopt-A-School committee members presented checks to each Jacksonville school. East Side Elementary, Fred Douglass Elementary, Jacksonville Middle School, Joe Wright Elementary, West Side Elementary, and Nichols Intermediate each received $1000. The Compass Center received $500. The funds are designated for student field trips. Serving on the Adopt-A-School committee are Vance Royon and Julie Robinson, co-chairs; Pam Anderson, Education Development Division chair; Byron Underwood, chairman of the board; Andy Calcote, chairman-elect; and committee members Patsy McLeod, Judy Terry, Rubin Ramirez, Susan Phillips, Tam Nannen, Janis Adams, Reguina Burton, Amy Pate, Britian McKinney and Bob Francis.
