Oct. 19 sign-up deadline for annual Scarecrow Trail
JACKSONVILLE – Creative crafters with a love of all things scarecrow have until Wednesday, Oct. 19, to enter in this year’s Scarecrow Trail, said organizers.
Registration forms are available on the Facebook page “Cherokee County Texas Scarecrow Trail,” as well as at the AgriLife Extension office at 165 E. 6th St. in Rusk and various local businesses.
These may be returned to the extension offices, emailed to [email protected] or mailed to the Extension Office, PO Drawer B, Rusk, TX 75785
The event is open to groups, families, businesses and individuals, with a $5 entry fee assessed; students entering through their schools may enter free of charge, organizers said.
This year’s trail will be on display from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Oct. 22-29, except on Sundays, and is at the Ruth B. Nichols Arboretum.
Admission to the trail, at 1015 SE Loop 456, is 1 canned good or $1 per person, with proceeds benefitting HOPE of Jacksonville.
