Dr. Vassil Tchokoev

A memorial service for Dr. Vassil Tchokoev, age 83, is scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Pastor Richard Rose will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on May 14, 1938 in Sofia Bulgaria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vastan and Maria (Chokoeva) Tchokoev; his wife of 45 years, Karen Forward-Tchokoev, who passed in October 2015; and his daughter, Julianne Rose Tchokoev.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Olga Dimitrova Tchokoev of Rusk; sons, Vastan Tchokoev and wife Katina and Nicholas Tchokoev and wife Megan, all of Houston. He is also survived by his sister, Rosa Androvska of Bulgaria; his four grandchildren: Vassil, Peter, Tatum and Makennah.
