Bernadette Theriot Rice Mills

Bernadette Theriot Rice Mills, was born January 25, 1928 in Baton Rouge, LA and passed away in Baton Rouge, on March 16, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel C. Rice, Jr. of Slaughter, LA; parents, Daisy Morrison Theriot and Horace J. Theriot of Baton Rouge. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was also preceded in death by her son Robin T. Rice; her grandson, Jonathon Rice; and her seven siblings, Elfleda Nevils, Norma Ory, Neva Von Monarch, Horace (Brother) Theriot, Jr., John Gerald (J.G.) Theriot, Shirley Browning and June Phelps; they held a loving and lifelong bond. She was the last of eight siblings of the Theriot family to pass away.

“Aunt Bernie” loved and was so proud of her surviving children, Dan C. Rice, III. and Tollie B. Rice, her grandchildren, Bridget (Deron) and Daniel (Emily), and her great- grandchildren, Cameron, Hayden and Carey Dane. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, June Theriot, and her many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation was at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00. p.m. Services were at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Greenoaks Funeral Home with interment at Redwood Cemetery in Slaughter, LA.
