Sue Henderson Watson departed this life to live in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 10, 2022 in Rusk, TX. She was born to the late D.H. (Doc) Henderson and Jessie Leola Yarborough on June 30, 1932 in Rusk, Cherokee Co. Tx. She grew up and attended school in Dialville, Tx.
She was a born again Christian and a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Rusk, Tx. She was employed by Rusk State Hospital Maximum Security in Rusk, Tx prior to transferring to Vernon State Hospital in Vernon, Tx as a supervisor, to finish out her retirement. She moved back to Rusk, Tx after her retirement. During her lifetime, she was fortunate to travel to every state except Alaska and Hawaii. She also traveled to many foreign countries. Sue loved cooking and family gatherings. Everyone loved her angel biscuits and banana pudding. It was funny, everyone knew if Sue was invited, she would make them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Victor Neal Watson, her sisters Rosemary "Peggy" Halbert, Faye Maxine Halbert, and Bina Lloyd.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Sharon) Coates of Rusk, Tx; her sister Glynda Dungan of Corpus Christi, Tx, her grandchildren Shannon Clement and wife Amanda of Rusk, Tx; Damon Clement and wife Kelley of Anna, Tx, Suzette Clement of Mckinny, Tx and Suzanne Brown and husband Mike of Lumberton, Tx.; her great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Special friends Sherwood and Vurlene Smith of Maydelle, Tx.; Ida Wiegham, Peggy Potts and Wanda Lindsey all of Rusk, Tx and Larry Brooks and wife Rita of Elkart, Tx.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Hospice Plus of Palestine, Tx, whom we would like to thank for their love and support.
