Fred Wayne Thurman, Jr.

A graveside service for Fred Wayne Thurman Jr., age 78, of Maydelle is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Mt. Comfort Cemetery with Rev. Rusty Sherman officiating.

Mr. Thurman passed away February 1, 2022. He was born August 21, 1943. He was a resident of Maydelle for 15 years and a member of the Maydelle First Baptist Church. Mr. Thurman traveled around the world working for various companies including Brown and Root, Lockheed Martin and NASA. He has several recognitions from NASA for his contributions to the space program. He was most known locally though for driving his zero turn mower from Maydelle to Rusk for supplies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pearl Brown of Maydelle. There will be no visitation.
