UPDATED FEB. 7

Wells City officials have announced at approximately 3 p.m. that a boil water noticed was rescinded at approximately 3 p.m. for residents on CR 2631.

"Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of February 7, 2021."

------

Effective Jan. 31, due to WATER MAIN BREAK, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required our water system CITY OF WELLS ID# 0370004 to notify customers of the need to boil their water before consumption.

The only structures effective by this water line break are listed below: East Sixth Street for the following customers only:

Hopper (1422 CR 2631); Childers (1552 CR 2631); Linstead (1622 CR 2631); Hicks (1702 CR 2631); Ford (1920 CR 2631)
To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled before use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
