A graveside service for Bobby Carnell Nation, age 85, of Reklaw was at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Brad Turlington officiating.
Mr. Nation passed away January 16, 2022. He was born June 15, 1936 in Gore, OK, to the late Roy and Bea Williams Nation. Mr. Nation was a retired school teacher of 41 years, coach and referee. He attended Salem Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma. He loved gardening, fishing and anything outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Nation. He is survived by his wife, Sue Nation of Reklaw; sons and daughters-in-law, Bret and Rhonda Nation of Colorado, Jamie and Crystal Oliver of Rusk; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Tim Hollis of Alto, TX; nine grandchildren including Christopher Nation and wife Kelsey, Cole Hollis, Camden Hollis and wife Caylee, Keaton Oliver, Jackson Oliver, Bella Oliver, Brystal Oliver, Brian Raiborn and wife Kristen, Hillary Raiborn; great grandson, William Nation; one brother, Jim Nation and wife Linda of Poteau, OK; sister-in-law, Shirley Herring and husband Kenny of Rusk.
Pallbearers will include Christopher Nation, Camden Hollis, Jackson Oliver, Cole Hollis, Keaton Oliver, Jamie Oliver and Tim Hollis. Honorary pallbearers will be the 1976 Rusk Eagle Regional Championship Baseball Team.
Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the funeral home.
