by Staff reports

UPDATED at 5:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14:

Local school officials confirmed Jan. 14 that additional cases of individuals with COVID-19 were present on the Wells Elementary campus Jan. 13-14.

Due to privacy requirements, names of the individuals, nor identifying details, will be released.

Officials remind families to monitor their children for symptoms of the virus, which include temperatures of 100.4 degrees or higher; sore throat; new uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing – different from a chronic allergic/asthmatic cough – diarrhea, vomiting or abdominal pain; or new onset of severe headaches, especially with fever.

Families are encouraged to contact their physician if any of these symptoms occur and to contact school nurse Tina Glover if lab-confirmed for the virus.
