New Year’s holiday closures

Various businesses and government offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Among them are: The U.S. Postal service; city offices in Cuney, Jacksonville, New Summerfield, Reklaw, Alto, Rusk and Wells, as well as the Cherokee County government offices.

The Cherokeean Herald offices are closed Dec. 31.

The Vanishing Texana Museum in Jacksonville will be closed Dec. 31.

Meanwhile, students in public school programs within the county remain on break until early January, according to school calendars.
