Magic is in the air for the young and the young at heart, as Rusk citizens gear up for the second annual Hometown Christmas Experience.

Events kick off Saturday, Nov. 27, with a variety of things planned, beginning with a 10 a.m. car and bike show – awards will be announced at 3 p.m.

Love cornhole? There’s an 11 a.m. tournament for enthusiasts, then at 11:45 a.m., SANTA ARRIVES!!!! The Jolly Old Elf will spend several hours in town, available for selfies with his fans.

A Toy Run commences at 3:30 p.m., and Fun Run Rides will be offered through 5 p.m. on the Trackless Train.

The day’s crowning event is the lighting of a 26-foot tall Christmas Tree at 5:25 p.m., signaling the beginning of the Christmas season. Be sure to keep your eyes open for Santa’s elves, along with holiday carolers and vendors and food trucks, too.

The event is sponsored by the Rusk Chamber of Commerce, www.RuskChamber.com
