2021 Holiday in the Country kicks off Christmas season in Troup
Businesses in downtown Troup have spent the past decade creating a unique holiday experience for visitors and residents alike, and are prepared for an even bigger and better Holiday in the Country celebration on Monday, Nov. 15.
“The city will be all decked out, kicking off the holiday season – the sights, the sounds & the smells! Laughter, smiles and joy are all a part of the plan,” said Suzanne Loudamy, executive director of the Troup Chamber of Commerce.
“Shopping local not only offers unique gifts you’ll not find in the big box stores but it also boosts the local economy,” she pointed out. “It keeps downtown doors open and welcoming to those who come to Troup looking for a pleasant place to spend their time.”
This year, Carlyle Homes will host the Chamber’s welcome center, distributing goodie bags to visitors.
Meanwhile, throughout the downtown area, business will open their doors wide as they welcome guests, and the city’s library, the staff at Cameron-J Jarvis Troup Municipal Library will be showing off their new furnishings as vendors display their wares and Troup ISD students feature their creations in an art show there.
Businesses participating in this year’s event, held from 5-9 p.m., include:
- Georgia Street Inn
-Steele’s Feed & Seed
-Maci’s Ranch Boutique
- Goal Life Nutrition
- Wonder Women
- Hope Restored Thrift Store
- salon K
- Shelly Wilson Ministry
- River Life Church
Meanwhile, Faith Veterinary Clinic will offer pet owners a chance for pictures of their four-legged darlings with Santa Claus, while food will be offered by First United Methodist Church, Milano’s Pizza, La Hacienda, Tiger Country Café and other vendors, Loudamy said.
“Hopefully the weather man comes through with the beautiful forecast of clear skies and cool temperatures, making it feel more like Christmas,” she said.
