Rusk Council to meet Nov. 11 in regular session

RUSK – Local city leaders will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, to discuss the following agenda items:

• Consider appointing a Charter Committee

• Consider the Resolution to cast votes for the Board of Directors of the Cherokee County Appraisal District

• Consider the 2021 Certified Tax Roll Levy

• Consider RFQ for the architect for city buildings

• Consider an ordinance amendment to Chapter 92 – Cemetery

• Consider an ordinance for golf carts

• Consider budget amendment.

• Approval of a consent agenda featuring an October 2021 check register report, summary R&E, September 2021 credit card charges, account balances; minutes for Oct. 14, Oct. 21 (special) meetings

Also during the meeting, two new Rusk Police Officers, Jeremy Thompson and Brady Gould, will be sworn into office, while recognition will be given for National Night Out efforts a certificate presented to the city for Texas Best practices, according to the agenda.

An executive session item on the agenda notes consultation with the city attorney on legal matters and real estate. Action, if any, will be taken when the council resumes into open session, as per Texas Government Code.
