A controlled burn

Citizens of Rusk were surprised to see a large plume of smoke wafting up into the horizon Monday afternoon. The smoke came from a controlled burn of timber on State Highway 241 near Salem Baptist Church. Signs were placed warning drivers and firefighters dug a trench to prevent the spread of any possible flames.
