UPDATE: CCSO says barricade incident ends peacefully

UPDATED at 7:57 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021:

CCSO Sheriff Brent Dickson said an incident involving a barricaded person has ended peacefully.

"The scene is secure. We have one in custody," he said.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to avoid the Moon City area, where they have been on the scene for several hours in response to a barricaded person at a residence.

The Nacogdoches SWAT team is assisting with the call, according department officials, who noted "There is no threat to the public at this time."
