Alto revises high school football schedule

ALTO – The local school district has revised its fall football schedule, said Alto ISD Athletic Director Lance Gamble.

“During our (Sept. 13) district football meeting, the district decided to switch our open date and last game of the season to allow for rescheduling due to COVID-19,” he said, thanking families “for your patience as our district tries to make the best of a tough situation.”

The Yellowjackets take on Winona Friday evening, with Homecoming 2021 activities planned.

The schedule for the remainder of the 2021 Alto football season, with a 7 p.m. kick-off for each game, is:

• Sept. 24 – San Augustine, home game

• Oct. 1 – Grapeland, away game*

• Oct. 8 – Centerville, home game *

• Oct. 15 – Leon, away game *

• Oct. 22 – Normangee, home game*

• Oct. 29 – Groveton, home game*

• Nov. 5 – Open/bye week

*denotes district play
