Postal rate hike takes effect Aug. 29

by Staff reports

The U.S. Postal Service will increase its rates over the weekend, as costs increase between two to 15 cents on a majority of postage. The only unchanged rate – at 20 cents per ounce – is that of first-class mail – single-piece letters, according to USPS.com

The rate hike is part of “Delivering for America,” the postal service’s 10-year plan “to achieve financial sustainability and service excellence,” with requested price changes “in accordance with approvals provided last year by the Postal Regulatory Commission, the site noted.

The complete Postal Service price filings with prices for all products can be found on the PRC site at https://www.prc.gov/dockets/active/R. A fact sheet on the Postal Service’s rate change request is available here: https://about.usps.com/what/strategic-plans/delivering-for-america/#prc.
