Richard Arnold Carroll, Sr.

A funeral service for Richard Arnold Carroll Sr., age 67, of Rusk is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the First Apostolic Church with Rev. Paul Gates officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Carroll passed away August 15, 2021. He was born December 18, 1953 in Greenville, MS, to the late Buck and Aline McDaniel Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a resident of Rusk for 23 years and a member of the First Apostolic Church in Dialville. He was an avid horseman and rancher and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, L.C. Carroll, Harry Carroll; and a sister, Barbara Harrison. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Candace and Blain Elliott of Amarillo, TX, Amber and Dannon Pate of Rusk; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Holly Carroll Jr. of Liberty City, TX; eight grandchildren including Jayden and McKenna Driver and Brylann Elliott all of Amarillo, Raygan, Kitt and Liam Pate all of Rusk, Corbin and Coen Carroll of Liberty City; siblings, John Wayne Carroll, Willie Carroll and Beverly Carroll all of Greenville, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers will include Mickey Gates, Anthony Munsinger, Casey Gates, Kenneth Gates, David Alexander and Ricky Scales.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the First Apostolic Church.
