RISD to host proposed budget, tax rate hearing Monday

RUSK – School board members will review a proposed 2021-22 Rusk ISD budget and tax rate during a 6 p.m. meeting Monday, Aug. 9, at the district training center, 199 Eagle Dr., according to a meeting agenda.

In separate action, trustees will consider setting a date for a public meeting on both the proposed budget and tax rate, as well as consider approval of publication of the proposed tax rate.

Other agenda items include:

• Consider approval of Appraisal Calendar and appraisers for 2021-22

• Report on April/May STAAR 3-8; April/May STAAR 5th & 8th Math & Reading; April/May STAAR EOC; and TELPAS K-12

• Consider approval of the 2021-22 RISD Student Code of Conduct.

Trustees are allowed by Texas Government Code to enter into executive session to discuss matters; however final votes, actions or decisions must be made in open session, according to the code.
