Officials have announced a 30-day suspension of in-person visits at the Cherokee County Jail, due to a COVID outbreak, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office social media page.

"The Sheriff's Office jail is experiencing a COVID outbreak. We are working with state and local health officials, along with the jail commission for the best course of action," the statement read. "For the safety of our inmates and employees, we are suspending our 'in person' visitation for the next 30 days. We will allow our inmates a free video visit weekly through NCIC inmate communication. Pray for our staff, inmates and community as we work through this situation."
