Groundbreaking slated June 23 for new Super 1 Foods in J'ville

JACKSONVILLE – Officials from Brookshire Grocery Co. and the city of Jacksonville will oversee a 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, groundbreaking ceremony at the site of a new Super 1 Foods in Jacksonville.

Construction on the project at 921 S. Jackson St. is expected to be completed early next year.

A regional family-owned business operating more than 180 stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas with three distribution centers, Brookshire Grocery Co. employs more than 15,000 employees. It has been in operation since 1928.
