Commissioners’ Court to mull road equipment purchase
RUSK – County leaders will consider the purchase of motor graders and a tractor with boom mower for Precinct 1 during its Tuesday, May 25, regular meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. at the county courthouse.
The purchase will replace equipment sold in auction through purchasing cooperatives, and will be financed with First National Bank of Wichita Falls, according to a meeting agenda.
Additionally, the court will consider an item that calls for approval of the refinance of a motor grader in Precinct 2.
Other agenda items include:
• Consider laying utility lines in each precinct
• Consider approval of resolution concerning unclaimed capital credits received from electric cooperatives
• Consider approval of 2021-22 renewal of health insurance and life insurance for county employees
• Consider request for public hearing to set speed limit to 25 MPH on County Road 2202 in Precinct 2
• Consider and accept Precinct 1 in assisting Union Grove Cemetery with a load of topsoil and removal of excess clay
• Hear from Dr. Richard D. Hackney on economic and beautification of northwest Cherokee County and possible vote on economic development
• Consider re-appointment of Cathy Newman to the ACCESS board of trustees
• Consider approval of budget amendment for insurance proceeds
• Consider approval of a budget amendment for 2020 HAVA election security sub-grant to counties (expenditure only)
• Consider approval of budget amendment for purchase in Fiscal Year 2021 of a new generator for county jail (expenditure only)
• Consider/possible vote on closure of County Road 4221 in Precinct 4
• Consider approval of a consent agenda
