Severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday
National Weather Service officials based in Shreveport have issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, for Cherokee County and surrounding counties in East Texas from the Red River south to Nacogdoches County.
Meanwhile, a flash flood watch continues for the area through Thursday morning, with additional rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches – and isolated higher amounts in excess of 6 inches – possible, according to weather.gov.
A healthy Cherokee County requires great community news.
