Virtual job fair for teens 16 and older set for May 15

by Workforce Solutions of East Texas

Workforce Solutions East Texas (WSET) is proud to partner with Region VII Education Center to host its first Youth Expo, a virtual job fair for teens age 16 and up who are looking for summer jobs, paid internships, or their next career. With traditional events restricted due to COVID-19, WSET uses a new virtual platform to protect attendees' health and safety. The Youth Expo will be held on Thursday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is aimed for seniors to participate during their career and technical education course at school.

"This creates a perfect opportunity to interact with employers who are interested in hiring the next generation of talent. This is also the perfect time for students to navigate the virtual hiring experience and secure a job that will lead to a possible career," said Workforce Center Director Mary Ann Rojas.

Approximately 25 employers are signed up to participate in the event looking to connect with the teen candidates. It's not too late to join in the event as a teen job seeker or employer. See the participating employers and register to attend by visiting https://www.easttexasworkforce.org/virtual-job-fairs. Our virtual event software is simple and easy to use, connecting individuals with employers through 1-on-1 text-based chats from the comfort of their home, office, smartphone, or tablet.
