Jacksonville mayor retains seat; Pharis narrowly wins Rusk District 1 council seat

CHEROKEE COUNTY – Election results from municipal and school board races of entities in Cherokee County, with unofficial returns showing Jacksonville Mayor Randy Gotham retaining his seat, and Kendall Pharis narrowly winning the Rusk District 1 city council seat.

Gorham received 412 votes to challenger Sonya Baker’s 126 votes in the Jacksonville mayoral race.

According to Rusk officials, Pharis received 28 votes, while challenger Ben Mims received 24.
