J’ville school board to discuss contracts

JACKSONVILLE – School board members will meet in closed session 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, to review administrator and teacher contracts for the 2021-22 school year, as well as discuss legal matters, student discipline and real property.

Action on these items, if any, will be taken when trustees convene into open session, as per Texas Government Code.

According to a meeting agenda, the board also will consider action on:

• Changing the May regular board meeting date

• Adoption of a proposed 2021-22 JISD school calendar

• Approval of a Memorandum of Understanding between the district and Tyler Junior College

• Adoption of resolution for missed work days due to severe weather conditions involving ice and snow

• Approval to extend current depository contract for district for the 2021-23 biennium

• Amendment of the compensation plan to increase summer school hourly rates for teachers and paraprofessionals

• A consent agenda that includes March 29 regular meeting minutes and various reports.
