Man wounded, suspect still at large

JACKSONVILLE – Police continue their search for a suspect involved in the shooting of a Jacksonville man Wednesday evening, according to officials.

The incident occurred about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, on the property of Truckerz, 1108 S. Jackson St., said Jacksonville Police Captain Steven Markasky.

A Hispanic male in his mid-20s was shot once in the lower body by a suspect who has not yet been identified. The victim, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to an area hospital, where he was released hours later, Markasky said, adding that no arrests have been made at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
