Mary L. Greene slipped peacefully into the arms of her Savior April 6, 2021 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Mary was born August 31, 1942 in Magnolia, Mississippi to the late Charles W. and Mattie D. Raiborn. Her life revolved around her love for the Lord and her family. Mary and husband Steve moved to Rusk in 1970 and joined Oakland Missionary Baptist Church where they made many wonderful and life-long friends. Later, around 1975 they joined First Baptist Church, Rusk and were faithful members until her illness prevented attending. She enjoyed sewing, fishing with her husband and working in her flowerbeds. Mary and Steve owned a dry cleaners and then she went on to work in the office at Brookshire Bros. for 10 plus years. In the 90’s they bought a plant farm in Reklaw, Greene’s Plant Farm, and worked together until retirement.

Mary is survived by her husband of 59 years and love of her life, Steve; her daughter Karla Thrash and husband Bobby; her son Chad Greene and wife Tammy; granddaughter Erin Curtis and husband Ryan; grandson Trey Thrash and wife Monica; granddaughter Kelsey MaQuar and husband Braydon; grandson Colton Greene and wife Sarah; grandson Caden Greene; great granddaughter Haisley Thrash; and great grandson Harrison Greene; a brother Tommy Raiborn and wife Kathy; sister Linda Rainer and husband Jimmy; sister-in-law Margie Raiborn; and brother-in-law JoEd Anderson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary’s life will be celebrated at First Baptist Church, Rusk, Texas April 9,2021 with visitation at 10 AM and funeral following at 11 AM, under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home. Interment will be at Driver Cemetery, Teague, Texas.

Pallbearers will include Trey Thrash, Ryan Curtis, Colton Greene, Braydon MaQuar, Brian Raiborn and Caden Greene. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Anderson, Craig Anderson, Sam Raiborn, Mark Raiborn, Matt Raiborn and Wade Raiborn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Plus in Palestine, Texas.
