UPDATE: Jacksonville entities give update for municipal, school events Feb. 15

"Jacksonville ISD will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 16, due to extreme weather conditions and widespread power outages throughout the district. Please continue to check the jisd.org website and social media posts for daily updates."

Officials with Jacksonville ISD and the City of Jacksonville have released weather-related statements about operations on Feb. 15.
"Jacksonville ISD will be closed for students and staff on Monday, Feb. 15. We will continue to update our website and social media posts daily by 5 p.m. for information through the week. Please stay in, keep warm, and stay safe," said JISD Public Information coordinator Grace Traylor.
Jacksonville city officials also announced that its non-essential offices are closed Monday due to hazardous driving conditions.
"Fire, police and other essential employees will be available to the public. Any citizen who needs to report downed trees, water leaks, blocked roadways or other issues, may contact 903-586-2546 for assistance 24 hours a day," according to a release issued Sunday. "Republic Trash Services trash pick-up for Monday, Feb. 15, 2021 has also been cancelled. This includes bulky waste pick-up. At this time, Monday trash will be picked up on Thursday, Feb. 18."
City officials said Royal Oaks Landfill also will be closed Monday, due to inclement weather.
