Floyd Grover Lusk

Floyd Grover Lusk, 76, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Houston, TX. Visitation was Friday, January 15, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel in Houston TX. The graveside service was 1:00 pm Saturday, January 16, at the Sardis Edgefield Cemetery in Sardis, near Rusk.

Floyd was born February 21, 1944 to parents Floyd and Verdie Jones Lusk in Rusk, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by: his loving wife of 30 years, Mildred (Mitzie); a son, Scott Lusk and wife Maria; daughter, Arlene Michelle Chambliss; stepson Jeffery Lee Hicks and wife Kathy; stepdaughters Stacey Lynn Burrows and husband Alan, and Jennifer Jo Massey and partner Matt Phillips; grandchildren Chelsea, Katie, Haylie, Theresa, Joseph, Elizabeth and Morgan; sisters Dorothy Ann Hughey and Betty Jane Moore, and brothers R.L. and James Lusk. And numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lusk was known for his love of deer hunting, being in the woods, and NASCAR. He loved to reminisce with friends, most of whom graduated with him in the 1962 Class of Rusk High school. While not partial to any teams, he loved watching football. Floyd had a long, successful career of over 39 years where he retired at Entex Natural Gas (now CenterPoint Energy).

Floyd “Paw Paw” Lusk will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
